Boats
Polishes and Waxes
SMiLe uses only the finest marine polishing and waxing products by 3M, Mary Kate, Collinite, Meguires and Sudbury. When compounding is required we use 3M Super Duty, PerfectIT II, or FinesseIt Rubbing Compound. Compounding is included in our detailing prices.
For an additional charge, we also offer detailing using Re-Structure Marine Products. Re-Structure is a cutting edge Silane-based polish incorporating RALG, a nanotechnological derivative formula resulting in a glimmering polish embedded in the craft's gelcoat. The additional charge is due to the higher cost of the product (a 3 year manufacturer's unlimited warranty is included), and the need to strip the hull before applying and hand-rubbing the polish into all surface areas.
Mildew
After mildew is removed we apply a Protectant/Conditioner to all upholstery and vinyl areas. Finally we place our specially-formulated diatomaceous earth-based moisture-absorption bags in closed and trouble areas. For End-of-Season service we place the bags throughout the boat before covering.
Windows
We use our own Green-Friendly window cleaning formulas and are happy to share them. For a fraction of the cost of retail window cleaning products try this in a 20 oz. spray bottle:
2 tablespoons of ammonia, lemon juice, or vinegar
1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol
1/4 teaspoon of dish detergent
clean or distilled water
At SMiLe we add drops of an essential oil (tea tree, lavender, or lemon) to the formula and polish the windows to a brilliant shine. The sun's heat provides a soft natural room fragrance.
